Accessibility
Most web browsers will allow users to customise their own font and background colours to make websites more accessible. If you find the AC's website's fonts are too small or the background is too light/dark, then use the tutorial below to change the settings for Internet Explorer 5 or Netscape 4. You can also click on the "increase text size" on all pages at the top right margin.
Internet Explorer 5
- Click on the 'Tools' menu item and then 'Internet Options...'
- At the bottom of the displayed window you will see the following buttons.
- 'Colors...' allows you to alter font and background colors
- 'Fonts...' allows you to alter font sizes and styles
- 'Accessibility...' allows to say what preferences you want to override

Netscape 4
- Click on the 'Edit' menu item and then 'Preferences'
- 'Colors' allows you to alter font and background colors
- 'Fonts' allows you to alter font sizes and styles

Firefox
If you have the Firefox Accessibility extension then just click to increase text size or
- From the
Fonts for
drop-down list, choose a character set. For instance, to set default fonts for the Western (Roman) character set, chooseWestern
. - Select whether proportional text should be serif (like "Times New Roman") or sans-serif (like "Arial"). Then specify the font size you want for proportional text.
- Specify the font to use for Serif, Sans-serif and Monospace fonts. You can also change the size for Monospace fonts.
You can also specify the display resolution, which is normally 96
dpi. Note that if you select
Other...
in the drop-down list of resolutions, you will see a
tiny and unusable dialog. This is a known bug in Firefox.
Finally, you can set the minimum font size to be used on screen. This can be useful on some sites that use very small fonts that are barely readable.
